MOD FACTORY OPTION FOR EVENTIDE H3000 ULTRA-HARMONIZER®
what it is...
mod factory is a software upgrade for the Eventide H3000 series that combines the warmth and flexibility of analog modular signal processing with the clarity and precision of digital audio. Used by Eventide as inspiration for the H3500, mod factory brings the salient features of the H3500 to any Ultra-Harmonizer.
modular processing...
The mod factory upgrade borrows from the era of patchable analog synthesizers to deliver "modular" digital effects processing to the H3000. Each of its two new algorithms wields a palette of delays, filters, duckers, envelopes, pitch shifters and LFOs that can be connected in any imaginable way for a myriad of sonic possibilites. For H3000 mavens, the potential is enormous. For those who simply want to "plug-and-play," we've carefully constructed 100 unique and very "musical' presets that can be used right out of the box.
dynamic effects...
mod factory transforms the H3000 into a processor that responds to a musician's touch, from delays that smoothly duck out of the way during busy phrases, to classic envelope filtering. Included in the 100 presets are effects such as dynamic tremolo, whose rate is modulated by the input level, and overdub loop, a delay loop that "overdubs" any new audio onto the loop, eliminating the overload that would normally accompany such an effect. From multi-band compression to unique modulated reverb, dynamic effects processing adds a new twist to a classic processor.
analog meets digital...
An integral part of the mod factory sound is the way in which delays, filters, and gains are modulated. Unlike most processors (including the original H3000), mod factory allows these parameters to be modulated at "audio" rates, eliminating the ugly artifacts usually associated with changing parameters during a performance. Using our two new audio-rate LFOs, analog-style effects such as swept filters and smooth auto-panning are now possible. With mod factory's smooth knob processing, even manual flanging can now be brought into the digital realm.
a better digital delay...
A great way to keep mixes from turning into mud is to synchronize delay times to the tempo of your music. With mod factory, you can adjust delays (and LFO rates) in musically useful quarter-note subdivision. To sync to a new tempo, simply set the Beat-Per-Minute control or "tap" in the tempo on the front panel. If 1500 milliseconds isn't enough delay (if you want to repeat entire musical phrases), simply install one of Eventides' sampler memory options. mod factory will automatically detect the extra memory and give you huge amounts of delay. (Two delays of up to 11 seconds with the HS322 or two delays of up to 32 seconds with the HS395).
finally...
The mod factory upgrade kit consists of one EPROM and a comprehensive manual. It installs easily into any H3000, H3000-S, H3000-SE or H3000-B, even if your H3000 has no free EPROM sockets. The upgrade will not affect any of the existing algorithms, presets, or functions or change the sound of your H3000 in any way (except for adding the wonderful new sounds of the mod factory algorithms and presets).
